Rosewoods Restaurant in Cerritos offers a laid-back, full-service dining experience centered on classic American breakfast and hearty Mexican-inspired dishes. Located just off South Street, it’s a spot that serves locals looking for a reliable, no-frills meal whether it’s a weekend brunch or a midweek comfort food fix.

The interior strikes a balance between casual diner vibes and comfortable family dining — think straightforward booths and friendly staff that, once you’re seated, seem genuinely interested in making your visit smooth. Weekends can be busy, but seating tends to move quickly, making it a convenient option when you want a sit-down breakfast without a long wait.

Rosewoods has a broad menu, which reflects its appeal to families and mixed groups. Locals appreciate the variety, from Mexican classics like homemade menudo and chicken pozole to American staples like eggs Benedict and the signature Rosewood omelette paired with their distinctive Rosewood potatoes. The menu’s diversity means there’s something for kids too, with pancake combos and approachable flavors, which fits well for families and groups of varying tastes.

The atmosphere often hums with an easygoing energy, and the restaurant is a spot where you might find sports fans casually catching a game, especially during Dodgers playoffs when a lively but unpretentious vibe takes over. Service can be a bit uneven at busy times initially but typically settles into attentive and friendly interaction once you’re seated.

Visitors passing through Cerritos have found this a solid alternative to quick drive-through meals, enjoying comfort dishes like meatloaf, baked potatoes, and traditional favorites that stay true to home-cooked flavors. The food is consistently noted for fresh ingredients and generous portions, with seasoning that leans into bold but balanced profiles — a good match if you appreciate straightforward, satisfying meals over gourmet frills.

Rosewoods is well-suited for families, groups looking to catch a casual meal, or anyone craving a mix of American and Mexican breakfast-lunch offerings in a no-pressure setting. Early weekend mornings and weekday afternoons (outside peak hours) are generally the best times to visit if you prefer a quieter table with prompt service. Expect a calm, welcoming restaurant where the food feels like familiar comfort food and the atmosphere invites relaxed conversation.

Great service and food. Seated within 5 minutes on a Saturday at 1030. Good chicken fried steak. Large menu with many options.

It was my first time here. Staff was a bit slow to acknowledge our presence. Once we were seated, the server was attentive and provided excellent service. We ordered the menudo and added pigs feet on the side, it was delicious!!! Too bad I live so far, I'd come back!!!!

We were passing through Cerritos looking for a quick bite that wasn't a drive through and found this place. At first glance I was concerned but im glad we have it a chance. The service was great and the food was good. The meatloaf and bake potatoe were yummy and my mom enjoyed the pozole. We will be back.

This place had great food. The food was fresh and I was full. The seasonings and flavor was on point. Nothing bad I can say about the atmosphere either. 5 stars all the way around

I absolutely love this restaurant! It’s our favorite spot for Mexican food. My boyfriend and I love coming here to watch Dodgers playoff games during the week when it’s not too crowded. It’s also a great place for families — the last time we were here, a big group arrived in a travel bus, and they all seemed to have a great time! My favorite waiter is Jose — he’s wonderful! The food is amazing, and they have everything. A big plus is that they serve breakfast all day. I came on a weekend with my friend and her six-year-old son not too long ago, and his junior breakfast was huge — nothing “junior” about it! Sometimes my boyfriend even orders breakfast for dinner. I love their menudo without hominy and their chile relleno — both are delicious! Just a heads-up, it can get pretty busy on weekends, but it’s always worth it.
